UGREEN 15976 CM642 USB4 40Gbps M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure

About this product

The UGREEN 15976 NVMe SSD Enclosure turns a compatible M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD into portable external storage. It uses a USB4 interface with speeds up to 40Gbps on compatible hardware. Therefore, it can help you move large files, create backups and access your NVMe SSD from a compatible computer.

USB4 40Gbps Performance with UGREEN 15976 NVMe SSD Enclosure

The UGREEN 15976 supports USB4 up to 40Gbps when you use a compatible host and full-featured USB4 cable. As a result, you can enjoy high-speed data transfers with suitable NVMe SSDs and USB4 devices.

However, the actual transfer speed depends on the SSD, computer, cable and host interface. USB 3.x connections can operate at lower speeds.

M.2 NVMe SSD Support

This enclosure supports M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes. It supports M-Key and compatible M+B Key NVMe drives.

Importantly, it does not support M.2 SATA/NGFF or mSATA SSDs. Therefore, check your SSD type before installation.

Active Fan Cooling with UGREEN 15976 NVMe SSD Enclosure

The enclosure uses a PWM cooling fan to help manage SSD temperature during demanding tasks. In addition, the aluminium alloy body and silicone thermal pad help move heat away from the installed SSD.

Therefore, the cooling system can help maintain more stable performance during long file transfers, backups and other heavy storage tasks.

Aluminium Alloy Construction

The aluminium alloy enclosure provides a strong and practical outer body. It also helps with heat dissipation from the internal SSD.

Moreover, the included external silicone case adds another layer of protection during everyday handling and transport.

Thunderbolt 3 and 4 Support in UGREEN 15976 NVMe SSD Enclosure

The UGREEN 15976 works with compatible Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 hosts. It also supports USB 3.x connections, although the available speed depends on the host interface.

As a result, you can use the enclosure across different compatible computers and devices without limiting it to USB4 systems.

UASP, TRIM and S.M.A.R.T.

The enclosure supports useful storage features such as UASP, TRIM and S.M.A.R.T. These features can help improve storage performance and provide drive health information when the host system supports them.

Therefore, the enclosure can work well for everyday file storage, backups and SSD management.

Easy External Storage Upgrade

You can install a compatible NVMe SSD and connect the enclosure to a computer through USB-C. This setup lets you reuse an existing NVMe drive as portable storage.

For example, you can use it for large file transfers, photo and video projects, backups, system storage and other data tasks.

Portable NVMe Storage

The compact enclosure makes it easier to carry an NVMe SSD between compatible devices. Furthermore, the included USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables provide flexible connection options.

Keep in mind that the USB-A connection cannot provide the full 40Gbps USB4 speed. Use a compatible USB4 host and cable when you want the highest available link speed.

Fast and Cool NVMe Enclosure

The UGREEN 15976 CM642 USB4 40Gbps M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure combines fast USB4 connectivity, active cooling and wide M.2 NVMe size support.

With its aluminium alloy body, PWM fan, USB4 interface and Thunderbolt 3/4 compatibility, it provides a practical way to turn a compatible NVMe SSD into fast portable storage.
